AI should also be smarter with their siege equipment (sending a trebuchet into firing range when they can fire from well out of range isn't intelligent on anyone's part. You should have to stockpile stone to keep the catapults and trebuchets supplied, that way lords can rebuild a little without it going back down in half a second. Siege equipment needs to be not overly useful. What is the point of having archers in towers if they can be so easily removed from existence by a single fire ballista round. Also when a Ballista arrow can remove 30+ archers from a tower in one shot there is a problem. When siege equipment alone can kill a lord there is a problem, leaves no incentive to train a real army except to defend yourself. ![]() In Stronghold 2 diseased cows were useable but not entirely effective (want cow warfare use Legends making their entire castle into a diseased wasteland is easy and everyone inside dies), and trebuchet stones and ballista arrows could down a lord unharmed if some guarding archers, axe throwers were present (I have killed many of the AI lords using no actual troops, just siege equipment, i killed Olaf with a catapult once in the campaign when you have to back to the monastery) I killed the Hawk in Hawk's Nest mission using only trebuchets and Ballista, it needs to back to being like Crusader for siege equipment but with some of the perks from 2 and legends (like putting archers on top of a siege tower). ![]() They were a challenge, the more recent lords (SH:2 and SH:L) have seemed really weak and unable to land a devastating blow on my castle let alone ever scratch my lord. In Crusader it would take a good half hour to an hour to bring down the walls of Emperor Fredrick from the Warchest expansion. I would like to see the AI lords come back to a level like they were in Crusader. One could siege and AI's castle in Stronghold 2 with 100% efficiency with how useful siege equipment is in SH:2 with the unlimited ammo for catapults and trebuchets. The lords don't have much resistance to attacks on their castle. I'd also like if the enemy castles were harder to siege and be successful, right now even if the lord has ballistas or mangonels on their towers a few trebuchets could easily level half the castle unharmed before a fresh batch is needed for the rest. Make their attacks more frequent (right now they allow too much time between assaults to be able to repair and rebuild defenses back to what they were, if any damage was done in the first place. Make their assaults strong enough to make players not able to build a defense and walk away not having to worry about being threatened in any way by attacking armies. I would like to see the AI lords send assaults to my castle that will do some damage, have them launch an attack that will force me to come to my castle to manage the defenses I have in order to survive the assault. In SH:2 AI didn't pose much of a threat and were 90% of the time easily eliminated by you or the one or two efficient lords in a match. Currently in SH:C the AI is the most intelligent. Personally I'd like them to be of much greater threat to the player lord. So what would people like to see in the AI Intelligence for skirmishes in Stronghold 3.
